Notice of Intent to Claim or Vary a Deduction for Personal Super Contributions
ATO form (NAT 71121) used to notify your super fund that you intend to claim a tax deduction for personal contributions you've made to your super.
When do you need this form?
When you've made personal (after-tax) contributions to your super fund and want to claim them as a tax deduction. You must lodge this notice with your super fund before you lodge your tax return for the year the contribution was made.
What you'll need
- Your TFN and date of birth
- Your super fund's name, ABN, and your member account number
- The financial year and total amount of personal contributions made
- The amount you intend to claim as a deduction
Where to send it
Send the completed form directly to your super fund — not to the ATO. Your fund will acknowledge receipt and adjust their records accordingly.
